Description:
The English Toy Spaniel has a small domed shaped skull, a flat muzzle with an upturned nose and large open nostrils. English Toy Spaniels have long silky ears and a feathered coat.

The English Toy Spaniel originated in England.
Height:
English Toy Spaniels are about 10 inches (25cm) in height.

English Toy Spaniels range from 9 to 12 pounds (4.1 to 5.4kg).
Colors:
The English Toy Spaniel is divided into four groups according to coat color Blenheim (rich mahogany red & white); ruby (rich mahogany red); Prince Charles (white with black & tan markings); and King Charles (black and tan).
Coat:
The English Toy Spaniel's long flowing coat must be brushed twice weekley in order to maintain its silky sheen.
Temperament:
This sweet and gentle breed may be somewhat timid but responds well to affection. The English Toy Spaniel is the epitome of a lap dog and loves being around lots of people. Well behaved and generally quiet, English Toy Spaniels make okay watchdogs and are average barkers.
Health Concerns:
English toy spaniels are susceptible to Patella Luxation, breathing problems, heart disease (MVD), slipped stifle, eye problems and ear infections.
Life Expectancy:
English Toy Spaniels can be expected to live 10 to 12 years.
Living Environment:
English Toy Spaniels need relatively little exercise and should not be over exerted. English Toy Spaniels should be protected from overly hot or cold weather.
