A sport for every dog…

I’m a little late in posting these pictures, but I hope you’ll think it was worth the wait!  These are from the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge Regional Finals in San Diego last month.  This premier canine sporting event features dogs competing in a variety of events including dog surfing, dog diving, freestyle flying disc, head-to-head weave poles, Jack Russell hurdle racing and agility. Above, Nani, a Bernese Mountain Dog, bails off her board during the surfing competition (Purina/ Gus Ruelas)

Lise Ann Strum of San Diego and her dog Vhoebe, a three-year-old-Belgian Malinois, broke the world record in the diving dog competition with a distance of 31 feet 5 inches (Purina/ Gus Ruelas)
Major, a five year old Parson Russell Terrier, competes in the 30-weave up-and-back event (Purina/ Gus Ruelas)
Prino, a four-year-old Papillon, competes in the small dog agility event (Purina/ Gus Ruelas)
Jeremy Duenas of Yorba Linda, looks on as Deagen, a 5-year-old French Bulldog, competes during the surfing competition (Purina/ Gus Ruelas)

Until next time,

Good day, and good dog!

  1. Ash – I gotta say I agree with you, but the captions were provided by the site that had the pictures, so I didn’t want to change them. Wonder if it’s a mix????
