Shelter Sunday: Angels for Animals / Mentor, OH

Brutus OHMeet Brutus! This handsome 4-year old is living in Mentor, Ohio courtesy of Angels for Animals. Here’s what their website has to say about him:

Brutus is a 4 year old Blue-tick Coonhound. He was surrendered to us by someone who found him as a stray and didn’t have the lifestyle that a hound dog needs. We are looking for an adopter who is familiar with this breed. Brutus loves attention and loves to cuddle but he also needs his time to go on adventures. Hounds don’t do well in shelter cages. He wants O-U-T. We take him out for walks and we let him run out in the fenced in field every chance we get. He’s great out there…totally different dog. When we bring him in –the confinement and the noise level stresses him out. Anyone coming into the shelter would think he was “crazy” if they didn’t understand his anxiety. He like many dogs-doesn’t show well in his cage. Brutus just needs a hound lover to come and see what an awesome dog he is outside of his cage.

If you’re lucky enough to be in Ohio, why not contact Angels for Animals and ask to meet Brutus and all of his friends. Fill out their online application, send an e-mail to [email protected] or call (330) 549-1111.

If you’re somewhere else, check out Petfinder’s Shelter Center to locate adoptable dogs near you.

Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
