April: Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month

Create Your Own ASPCA Fundraiser Campaign
By creating your own fundraising campaign page for a special event, setting up a memorial page or participating in one of our athletic events, you’ll help animals in need nationwide.

Support Your Local Animal Shelter
Coordinate a ”Go Orange for Animals” event, such an adoption event or donation drive, with a local animal welfare group or shelter of your choice and donate the proceeds and/or supplies that you collect. To find a shelter or rescue group near you, visit our shelter database.

Show Your Virtual Support
Spread the word about Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month by posting on your social media networks using the hashtag #fightcruelty and tagging @aspca. You can also follow the ASPCA on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest.

Play Dress-up
Open your closet and get out those bright orange pants, shirts, ties, shoelaces and socks and don them throughout the month of April. Visit the ASPCA Online Store to browse a variety of orange apparel!

Become an Animal Activist
Visit our Advocacy Center and join the ASPCA Advocacy Brigade to receive emails about important animal welfare-related legislation and find out how you can make a difference.
