Friday Funny: Watchdog, Sort Of

Husky sounds

This is pretty much how it works at my house. I installed a new doorbell that rings Westminster Chimes, rather than a regular ding-dong sound, and my dogs haven’t yet caught on that the new sound means someone’s at the door. If I do it right, I can lock them in the back room and make it to the door before they realize we have company. But somehow they never miss the sound of the refrigerator opening.

Is it the same at your house?

Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!

Friends from the Ball Park

Meet my new friends, Twister (L) and Bandit (R). They came to meet me during my kids’ softball scrimmage last night. Aren’t they beautiful!?!?! No, Twister wasn’t being aggressive – I think I caught him mid-yawn. Right after I snapped the photo, Bandit jumped in the van to get up close & personal. I guess he thought I’d maybe take him for a ride.

Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!

As many of you know, my dogs get out of my yard with alarming frequency because my kids often leave the gate open. We’ve been fortunate that they always come home or at least seek out a neighbor who calls the number on their tags so we can come and get them. But what do you do when your dog runs 800 miles from home? You rely on the kindness of strangers, that’s what. Check out this clip from NBC News’ “Making a Difference” series.

Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
