Default Different Dogs Need Different Toys

Do you experience that a fellow dog owner raves about a new dog toy (that it is indestructable, the best, the cutest, etc.) but your dog does not enjoy it?

What I have learned is that in order to figure out what will work best for your dog, there are a few things to consider. First, what breed or combination of breeds is he or she? Many breeds are hardwired with tendencies toward certain activities. For instance, terriers like to dig, bury things and then try to find them. Retrievers obviously like to fetch. Of course, that is not the only thing to consider. Every dog is unique. I believe in trying several toys that all encourage a different play pattern, and then see which he or she responds best to. For example, you can try some fetch toys like tennis balls, or disks. If that doesn't spark his or her interest, then try hiding squeaker toys around the house or yard and see if she seeks them out. You may even want to try this with treat dispensing toys, to help him or her find them.

What you do think?

My dog's favorite toy is his big as in big toy bone. I should post pictures of the bone. I bought it in a local pet shop for 10$.
