Buster: neutered, male, chinese crested powderpuff, white chest & front legs, apricot (tannish) head & back, floppy ears with dark streaks. He went missing from Roeslers Boarding Kennel in Winfield, MO on 6/27. We, the dog owners have been searching since 7/2 when we returned early from vacation. The kennel owners did not look for him or make any reasonable attempts to locate him or notify shelters as they told us they would. We believe he was stolen or sold and therefore can be anywhere. We are offering a $200 reward.

I am the Owner of Roeslers Kennels, and I feel that I need to respond to this post. First of all their dog was not Sold or Stolen, They boarded their dogs (two of them) at our kennels. They "forget" to tell most of the truth, as the truth is there was a tonado/80+ mile an hour winds that tore apart the kennels. They took us to court and the court system FOUND US NOT GUILTY, and that it was an "Act of Nature" They "forget to tell you" that they STAYED on vacation for 5 more days, and their neighbors came to help US and a search party look for their dog, (we formed the search party) they had their neighbors LEAVE their 2nd dog here with us, and they knew that the kennels were in horrible condition, but had us keep their 2nd dog here anyway. One of thier neighbors car would not start so we "jumped" it for him, and we allowed their neighbors to come into our home and use our bathrooms, but in other posts they claim that we were rude to their neighbors. (Their neighbors never showed up in court to tell thier lies for them) They love to tell people that we go to bed at 7pm, I cant remember the last time I went to bed at 7pm it seems like it would be a good idea but not practical. They "forget" to tell people that the night of the storm we were "Afraid for our lives" As trees were up rooted and falling on our kennels our Barn and also crushing our garage, with rain coming down in blankets, and our electric line being ripped out and flopping on the ground. I guess they would not know that it looked like a BATTLE FIELD as they CHOSE to stay on vacation for 5 more days after they were notified. They also "forgot" to tell you that 4 days after they returned home from their vacation they DEMANDED $3000 from our insuance company, you heard right THEY WANTED $3000 FOR THEIR BELOVED PET ONLY DAYS AFTER IT WAS MISSING. They could not "find" any receipt for the purchase of their dog, they just wanted $3000. They didnt tell you any of this in their post, they just told you we sold it or lost it.
About 2 weeks after this storm, we had people helping us STILL clean up and one of the workers found a carcus in the crushed garage. We called the police and had the police determine that there was a possiblity that it might have been their dog, you see this is in August and under a crushed garage, it can get pretty hot, so the remains of this animal were not in good condition. The police determined that HE THE POLICEMAN SHOULD CALL THE OWNERS which HE DID. I have no idea what they took to their vet, the police just let them know they could pick up these remains at the police department. They "say" it was a possum, We said from the beginning to the police that we didnt know if it was their dog, the police determined that it was important to call them. They keep posting a BIG REWARD (which is $200) But wanted our insurance company to give them $3000. Well, the judge did NOT see it their way! SO NOW THEY TELL EVERYONE WE SOLD IT OR LOST IT. Also keep in mind that we have insurance, and if it were our fault it was missing or found dead they would have paid, but THE COURT SYSTEM FOUND ROESLERS KENNELS NOT GUILTY OF ANYTHING!!! (I WILL ADD THE FIRST JUDGE GAVE THEM COURT COST OF $70 AND THE SECOND JUDGE TOOK IT AWAY!) SO THEY GOT NOTHING......BECAUSE WE DID NOTHING WRONG. It is sad that this happened, but they were not the only victim to this horrible storm. Karma I think they might want to look that word up. |

poppy was stolen on the 31st of may 2006. she was in our vehicle when we were having lunch and when we came out somebody had taken her out. we were parked in 'The Old Bell' car park in Grazely Green near Reading. Poppy is a chinese crested powderpuff. she is Black/White and Grey in colour, and is very fluffy. she has a medical problem so this means we have to take her to vets alot. she is 5 years of age, and is very missed by the whole family including her daughter Buffy!

We did have the receipt for the dog in the packet given to the judge. We also included the hundreds of dollars we spent on flyers, ads, phone calls and gas in the attempt to find our dog. They assured us they were hanging flyers while we were gone, calling the neccessary places and searching the area. We figured out the morning after our return that they hadn't so we did it. We had also spent hundreds of dollars on vet expenses since he was still a puppy. We had receipts for EVERYTHING! We contacted the insurance company upon the kennel owners insistance when my husband told them about the suspected theft since they admitted to not locking the kennel runs. She became outraged and said to call her insurance. A 9 1/2 pound dog can't push out a doggie door with 80 mph direct winds toward the doggie door. Nor can he manouver through heavily follaged tree branches and jump 5-6 feet to the ground and still be able to run off 3 acre property in the dark. Especially, since they claimed their porch light was on. A scared dog would run or limp to the safety of a house. The trees fell along the sides of the building. The lighter ends of branches laid on the roof of lower runs. They did not destroy them. The large kennels, small kennels, and lower small kennel runs were untouched. They assured us the other dog would be safe. Buster would not leave the yard without the other dog...that's why we left our other dog. We were told by the insurance company on numerous occassions that their policy didn't cover loss or damage to customer property only death. Soon after, we got the call about the "opossum". The sheriff admitted to not looking at the carcas, nor was he given a picture of our dog to compare the fur color and length. Both did not match our dog in anyway. In court, the kennel owner said that he still believes that the carcas is indeed our dog "because they never found a dead animal on their property before." Infact, the small claims judge repremanded him for notifying us about the body because it was obviously a opossum. Lastly, we stayed 3 days and had a 15 hour drive to arrive back day 4. Had they called when it happened or the next morning (not 17 hours later), we could have and would have returned in 6 hours. We trusted they were doing the right thing by searching the area beyond their yard and following our instructions. As for them being so scared for their lives, he testified that he stayed in bed despite his wife's nagging him to get up because of the wind. He also claimed to run out onto the porch (facing our dog's kennel run) within 30 seconds of the trees falling and finding our dog missing...then went back to bed until morning because it was "dark and raining". They never made any offer of compensation. We didn't ask for it either because we (not them) were still looking for Buster. It wasn't until we got the opossum that we filed the lawsuit. We then knew that they were not wanting us to find our dog. Not a day goes by, still, that our daughter doesn't think about Buster.
