How old is your Boxer? Or if you had one in the past, how old did it live to be?

We have our first boxer boy, Remy, and he is only 4 1/2. When we heard the lifespan of boxers can be a short as 8yrs, we were disappointed. However, we have met several boxer owners who have told us of 12 and 13 year-old boxers.

They are prone to heart disease and cancer, so he is a canine blood donor because they do a complete blood test annually for free, as long as he gives 3-4 times a year. We give him premium food and he gets lots of exercise and mental stimulation so I hope he lives a good long time.

I have a 10 year old, 8 year old, 6 yearold and a 5 year old. I had one to live to be 13 years old.
