Azawakhs range in size from 23 inches to 29 inches tall at the shoulder.
Azawakhs weigh between 33 and 55 pounds.
Azawakhs come in a variety of colors and color combinations, including red, clear sand to fawn, brindled, parti-color (which may be predominantly white), blue, black and brown.
The Azawakh has a short fine coat.
The Azawakh is agile, has great endurance, extremely loyal to and deeply affectionate with its family, but possesses the sharpest temperament of all the sighthound breeds. It is fiercely protective of its people and territory. Extremely intelligent and greatly independent, it must be trained at a young age.
Azawakhs are an incredibly sound coursing breed. They heal very quickly, with no known incidence of hip dysplasia. Hereditary conditions are rare.
This active dog has strong guarding and hunting instincts, and requires daily exercise for both mind and body fitness.
