If you’ve been following along this week, you know that I have spent most of the week chasing loose dogs. In spite of double-gated doors and locked fence gates, my dogs still get loose at least once a week. I just can’t convince my kids to keep the doors closed. And, since they are hounds (the dogs, not the kids) , they just love to run! My gps collars are on order, and I’ll keep you updated on how they work.

My dog used to get out when we left the door so much as cracked, but now we can leave it open and she just sticks her head out until we invite her out.
Someone actually left our back gate open last week and, since we leave the back door open when it’s nice out, she escaped and a kid knocked on my door to tell me she was out (she’s a local celebrity among the neighborhood kids) eating spilled spaghetti out of the cul-de-sac. That was a joy.
All in all, though, she’s more of an indoor escape artist than concerned with getting out. The door into the garage (trash and kitty litter) and pantry door are nothing for her. Luckily she is only after a treat or two from the pantry, but if the door to the garage isn’t locked and she’s bitter and bored it’s not pretty.
