Canine Breast Cancer

pink ribbonAs we end October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I thought this story from WEWS in Cleveland was appropriate.  (No, it doesn’t involve NFL players wearing pink shoes – have you ever seen anything more ridiculous?)

The recent 3-day walk for a cure in Cleveland had a team with a dog mascot named Muffin.  This 5-year old was found wandering the streets last winter with a large cancerous mammary tumor.

Marilyn’s Voice, a rescue organization near Cleveland, took the dog in and had her successfully treated to remove the tumor, after which she was adopted by a woman whose sister is also a breast cancer survivor.

Muffin was promptly added to the walking team, wearing her very own pink ribbon T-shirt.

Until next time,

Good day, and good dog!
