  1. My elder daughter accepted custody of young [about 18 months] Tibetan Mastiff. Teagan is a sweet natured 80 lb. pup who is genetically programed to be a LOUD watch dog, which is rather more noise than anyone can cope with. She spent about $100.00 an an upper end bark deterrent device. They are returning it ASAP as it doesn’t deter T. one little decibel. Rather their 8 year old arthrictic and mellow black Lab cringes and displays great discomfort when T. causes the bark buster to sound off–hardly seems fair to punish the old boy for the female’s big mouth. Brittany, my old girl beagle, is SO silent and tolerant of other dogs’ noisy bad behavior, it was startling how she made Teagan back down and get “outta her face” with one sharply enunciated howl! Ro-o-o-w-wf!
