Michigan Dog Shot for Excessive Barking

From WXYZ.com, ABC Channel 7 in Detroit: When Brittany Preston dropped her dog Lexie off at her grandfather’s house on her way to work, she had no idea it would be the last time she’d see the pup alive. Grandpa, who suffers from mild dementia, let the dog outside, but forgot and left her out all night.

Between the hours of 3 and 7 am, Lexie naturally barked to be let inside, but the neighbors found the barking excessive and called police. From there, reports differ.

Police say they chased the dog for hours, trying to catch her with a dog stick, but she eluded them. In the end, they say she charged them, and they had no choice but to shoot.

Witnesses say that Grandpa was trying to get the dog into the house when the shooting began, and that the dog was cowering against the home while she was drilled with no fewer than eight bullets.

Sad, sad, sad…

Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
