weather puppyCheck out these apps for the dog lover in you!

Partnered with non-profits/shelters across the country. Available for both Apple and Android. Learn more from the Weather Puppy site.

The American Red Cross First Aid App for Pets: Allows you to find the nearest vet and tells you how to take care of minor problems yourself. The app puts veterinary advice for everyday emergencies in the palm of your hand. Get the app and be prepared to act when called upon. With videos, interactive quizzes and simple step-by-step advice it’s never been easier to know Pet First Aid. $0.99 for both Apple and Android. Learn more at the Red Cross site.

Map My Dog Walk: Just in time for summer. One would assume you could map out anybody’s walk from here, but it is directed to dog walkers. It’s part of MapMyFitness and gives you an interactive map that allows you to find dog parks and track your time, distance, route, and pace. No word on how it accounts for sniffing and pee breaks. Free for both Apple and Android. Learn more on Map My Walk. (Requires site registration.)

Doggie Datez: Because every dog needs a social calendar. Doggy Datez is a location-based mobile platform that makes it easier to find new friends and have more fun while walking your dog. By “marking your territory”, you’re taking ownership of an area (200m radius) in the physical world and seeing who else “visits” your spot, just like dogs do! Use your DogMiles (which are points you gather by marking territories) to “fly” across the world and Skyjack other people’s territories. With DoggyDatez you can search for users by gender, age, dog gender, dog age and/or dog breed, play and compete to make it to our TopDogs list, share your content, and much more! Free for both Apple and Android. Learn more at the Doggie Datez site

And when you’re done downloading your apps, be sure to spend some time with your dog!

Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!

  1. There is also Weather Kitty. I have both. There is also an app called Walk For a Dog. I use it as it raises money for one of our local rescues when I walk our dog.
