I’ve spent a lot of time this week posting about the privileged purebreds who will compete at the 2011 Westminster Kennel Club show starting tomorrow, but I did want to take at least a few minutes to put the spotlight on a dog who isn’t looking to win any prize other than a forever home.

Meet Mikayla! She is currently in the custody of the Camden County Animal Shelter in Blackwood, NJ, where they seem to have been overrun by Pit Bulls. (47 of the 54 dogs they have available are Pit Bulls or Pit Bull mixes.) Here’s what their website has to say about beautiful Mikayla.
Meet Thor! Nine-year old Thor is a boxer living under the care of Boxers and Buddies in Reno, Nevada. They note that he is good with dogs and kids, but they’ve never tried him around cats. I just love his curious face! Here’s what the good folks at Boxers and Buddies have to say about him.
