This may be different in various states, but in Ohio, we’re coming up on the deadline to buy dog licenses. And if you miss the deadline, you pay double!
Yes, this is another form of taxation, but it does serve a purpose. If your dog is lost, having a license may help you get him back sooner. And if he gets loose, the dog warden may lessen the fine you have to pay if you have a valid license. (Speaking from personal experience on that one!)
So, if you are required to buy a license where you live, get right on that!
