Happy Thanksgiving Canada!

Happy ThanksgivingA big shout out to our Canadian readers as they celebrate Thanksgiving today. Thanks for coming along with us on this blog journey.

A short history lesson for the American readers: The Canadians actually celebrated the first Thanksgiving celebration in North America in 1578 – a full 43 years before the Pilgrims celebrated at the Plymouth Rock colony in 1621. The Canadian celebration happened when explorer Martin Frobisher returned to Canada after his 3rd try at finding the Northwest Passage.

Canadians: Please eat a BIG piece of apple pie for me! (And remember to keep your dog away from the turkey carcass – the bones can splinter and cut your dog’s throat and intestines.)

Saturday Survey: Your Dog’s Thanksgiving Meal

Did your dog enjoy Thanksgiving as much as you did? We had one commenter say her dog had the “unpleasant” task of saving hot water and energy by cleaning the plates, which made me wonder what your dogs will be eating. My dogs got left at home while we went to Grandma’s for the weekend, so they only had their normal kibble.
