FUN FACTS ABOUT DOGS

Did you know that Teddy Roosevelt’s dog, Pete, ripped a French ambassador’s pants off at the White House?  Or that President Lyndon Johnson had two beagles named Him and Her?

How about the fact that, if neutering & spaying were impossible, one breeding pair, plus all of their offspring could create 66,000 puppies in just six years!  This in spite of the fact that female dogs are only ready to mate – “in heat” – twice a year for a total of roughly 20 days.

Each dog has 321 bones and 42 teeth – regardless of breed.

Although the average dog’s lifespan is 15 years, the oldest dog on record – a Queensland “Heeler” named Bluey – was 29 years, 5 months old.

These are just a few of the facts you can use to amaze your friends!  For the other 95 facts, click here.

Until next time,

Good day, and good dog!
