The top five mushers have left the Rainy Pass checkpoint.
Leading the pack is Aaron Burmeister, who left Rainy Pass at 15:45.
2nd: Richie Diehl, 16:22
3rd: Peter Kaiser, 16:23
4th: Lance Mackey, 16:33
5th: Brent Sass, 16:38
Not surprisingly, none have taken either their 8-hour or their 24-hour layovers yet, although Diehl, Kaiser, and Mackey did take a short rest of 3 – 5 hours at Rainy Pass.
