I quite often recommend keeping dogs busy to prevent destructive behaviors such as chewing, digging, and excessive barking. One of the best things I’ve ever seen was a homemade food dispenser made of two-liter bottles suspended on a dowel rod. The dog has to spin the bottles to make the food fall out. I love the idea, but am not handy enough to make one myself, and had never seen one available commercially. Then, I stumbled into Trixie products. They have a whole line of interactive toys for dogs (and for cats, if you have a multi-species home). They call the dispenser a Turn Around (pictured here), and they have lots of other puzzle toys to keep your dog mentally stimulated throughout the day.
