OK, first of all, I have to say I LOVE LOVE LOVE the name of this mixed breed: Chihuahua + Dachshund = Chiweenie. Besides that, this is a phenomenal story! When Millie, a Chiweenie from Gainesville, FL, ran away from home, she had no idea she was about to go for the ride of her life.
And when Jodie Jernigan was driving to work, she had no idea she’d be involved in a once-in-a-lifetime event for the little dog. Jodie saw the dog and felt the impact when her car hit the animal, but when she got out to try and help the injured animal, Millie was nowhere to be found. When Jodie arrived at work, she checked the car for damage, and found Millie peering out from behind the car’s grille.
The dentist Jodie works for, Dr. Jordan Webb, took apart the bumper to remove the dog. Millie was taken to veterinarian Mark Coleman at Suburban Animal Hospital. Millie was favoring her front right paw, but nothing was broken and she was otherwise in good shape.
Then they tried to identify her. Unfortunately, Millie was not micro-chipped, but the staff at the dental office searched pet websites and social media until they were able to locate Millie’s family, who was happily reunited with the little dog.
Wonder if Millie knows just how lucky she is?
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
