My newest friend from the ice cream stand at Kremeland: Champ!
This beautiful Whippet wouldn’t turn around so you could see it, but on his left hip, his markings form a giant heart. And he has giant heart inside his body as well. Already certified as a Canine Good Citizen, he is just one class away from being certified as a therapy dog.
When I met him, he was enjoying a dollop of vanilla ice cream garnished with a dog biscuit on top. We were soaking up a beautiful early fall day in Navarre, Ohio – a small burg that’s home to Nickle’s Bakery, Mid’s Spaghetti Sauce, and Shearer’s Snacks, among other things.
