Where’s the Kitty?

Yes, I know this video features cats, and this is a dog blog, but I had a lot of fun watching my dogs while this played. They were looking all over my office for the kittens, and they had that cute head tilt thing going on.

Turn up the volume, call your dog into the room, and enjoy the hunt! There are worse ways you could spend a couple of minutes today.

Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!

Congrats to Tyler & Sassy

Nidys Pay Dirt

Tyler Nidy

Congratulations to friend and Challenger Baseball star Tyler Nidy on recently winning Best of Hound, Best of Show, and taking 3rd in the Night Hunt with Sassy at the World Tree Dog Association Tri-County Competition!

Tyler’s mom is partial to Boxers, but his dad is all about the hunting hounds. I know both are super proud of his accomplishments, though!

Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!

Coast Guard Dog

Coast GuardApparently, when you take a dog on a Coast Guard cutter, you want to make sure he’s wearing eye and ear protection, not to mention a life vest. From the USCG Facebook page.

The Coast Guard has 15 canine teams total. Each team is comprised of one Guardian and one dog. There are two teams at every Deployable Operations Group (DOG) unit and one team at Sector New York. The DOG units include MSST Seattle, MSST San Francisco, MSST LA/LB, MSST Galveston, MSST Kings Bay, MSST New York and MSRT Chesapeake.

The Coast Guard launched the Canine Substance Detection Program approximately one year after the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. The program’s goal is to enhance detection and deterrence capabilities in the maritime environment, adjacent lands, and waterside installations.

I’m glad they’re taking such good care of the pooch, and I’m glad that the Coast Guard takes such good care of us every day.

Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!

KLM’s Wonder Dog

Dutch airline KLM has found a new way to reunite items left behind on planes with their owners. They use the strength and accuracy of a Beagle’s nose to find people before they leave the airport. And they couldn’t have found a cuter dog if they had tried. I absolutely love this clip! It makes me want to fly to Amsterdam and leave something on the plane.

Beagles rule!

Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
