(The above video is from The 2018 AKC National Obedience Championship)

From the American Kennel Club: Think your dog is an A+ student? Are your friends and family jealous with how well you’ve trained your dog? Then you might want to take things to a new level by participating in Obedience competitions (aka trials).

2014 AKC / Eukanuba National Championships

The AKC/Eukanuba National Championship (AENC) returns December 13-14, 2014 to Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center. Already one of the world’s premiere dog events, the 2014 event will offer all-breed competitions, specialty competitions and special attractions, breeder seminars, the AKC Agility Invitational and AKC Obedience Classic, junior events, consumer attractions and of course the crowning of a new National Champion.

The event is one of the most highly competitive and exciting events in the canine world. Every year, thousands of the world’s top canine competitors from all 50 states and more than 70 countries vie for Best in Show honors.

Each year the show is held in conjunction with the AKC Obedience Classic and AKC Agility Invitational , representing the culmination of a year of competition in three AKC sports: Conformation, Obedience and Agility. More than 4,100 dogs are expected to compete!

Conformation judging starts at 8 am Saturday with the Bulldogs. You can download a complete schedule if you want to find your favorite breed. Click here, then click on the judging program at the bottom of the page.

Schedules for the events other than conformation can be found here.

One of the most exciting attractions is the AKC Meet the Breeds with over 150 AKC breeds on display for the public to meet and speak with breed experts. The AKC Demonstration ring features fun, educational and exciting demonstrations such as herding with live ducks, agility, obedience and seeing-eye dogs.

Can’t be there in person? Check out their interactive live-stream of the events, starting at 6 pm each day.

I have a few things to do this weekend, but will try to post results as I have time.

Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
