Shelter Sunday: Animal Protection and Welfare Society / Baton Rouge, LA

Hope LAMeet Hope! This Husky / German Shepherd mix is living in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with the Animal Protection and Welfare Society. Here’s what their website has to say about this pretty (and lucky!) girl.

Hope is a beautiful girl who was found in the middle of Airline Hwy after being hit by a car. She was trying to dodge traffic and bleeding. One of our volunteers was right there, jumped out of his car, and picked her up. Although she was in a lot of pain, she just wrapped her arms around his neck while he carried her to his car and safety. He immediately took her to the emergency vet where she was examined. Hope had a badly broken leg and injured pelvis which required surgery. She is now healed and looking for her forever home. Please consider opening your heart and home to Hope.

If you’re lucky enough to be in Louisiana, why not contact the Animal Protection and Welfare Society and ask to meet Hope and all of her friends. Call 225-343-0303, drop an e-mail to [email protected] or fill out an online application.

If you’re someplace else, check out PetFinder’s Shelter Center to find adoptable dogs near you.

Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
