I opened up my daily e-mail alert about all things dog today, and found nothing but horrible news about maulings, torture, cruelty, and general mayhem…except for this one happy story. I’m not in the mood to write about everything that’s wrong in the world today, so I chose the happy story.
It seems the Dachshunds took over Hastings Park in Vancouver this weekend. The picture, taken by Jason Payne, ran in The Province, where they highlighted the fierce competition.
The dog races were run in between horse races, and were a great hit, even though betting was not allowed on the dogs. The article said some of the dogs were quite competitive, while others took their own sweet time finding the finish line.
Looks like a great time was had by all!
