I’m so proud of my employer – helping dogs with a bowling fundraiser

As I’ve said before, I am a proud employee of American Electric Power.  Things like this article from The Putnam (WV) Standard make me feel even better about the company.

Bowling tournament to benefit Putnam County Animal Shelter

Tuesday, January 26, 2010

On March 14 employees and friends of AEP’ s John E. Amos Plant will take on the employees and friends of the Putnam County Animal Shelter in a bowling tournament at Venture Lanes in St. Albans.

The tournament will begin at 1 p.m. and all proceeds will be donated to the Putnam Animal Relief Center Fund (PARCF). The fund has been set up to build a much needed new animal shelter for Putnam County. For more information contact Karen Haynes at 304-757-7584

Venture Lanes has donated the use of it’s facility for this fund raiser.

Amos will also be a major sponsor of this year’s Fur Ball which is the single largest fund raiser for the new shelter each year.

This will be the third year for the Fur Ball which will be held February 20 at First State Bank in Teays Valley.

For more information on the Fur Ball contact Jeff Barnes at 304-757-5700.

Donations will be accepted at the bowling event or can be made out to PARCF and mailed to:

I just love the idea of a dance named the “Fur Ball” – don’t you?

Until next time,

Good day, and good dog!
