August 15th is National Check the Chip Day

Microchip

Today is National Check the Chip Day, encouraging dog families to review the information contained on their dogs’ microchips, making sure everything is up to date.

Have you moved or changed your phone number over the past year?

Maybe you got a new dog that was already chipped and you forgot to register your information with the chip registry.

Microchips are a great resource for reuniting lost dogs with their people, but only if we make sure the information is registered and updated every time something changes.

The American Veterinary Medical Association offers a toolkit for pet professionals who want to educate their clients about the importance of microchips.

If your cats are chipped, don’t forget them today!

Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
