Shelter Sunday: Heavens Tabetsy / Last Hope K-9 Rescue / Boston, MA

Tabby MA

First of all, I absolutely love the name Heavens Tabetsy! This big old hunk of love is crate trained, good with other dogs, and mostly house broken. Here’s what her rescuers have to say about her:

Heavens Tabetsy (who goes by Tabby) is one of the sweetest and most affectionate dogs you will ever meet. She is also one of the shyest, as she gets very scared around new people and places. Tabby’s first instinct is to run away from what she is scared of, but if that is not an option, she will freeze and occasionally go to the bathroom out of fear. However, once she is comfortable with you, Tabby acts like a normal playful puppy and will shower you with kisses and cuddles!

Tabby takes a few hours to warm up to a new person and about a week to become fully comfortable. She gets very attached to her people and tries to stay as close as possible around the house. She loves attention and will remind you with some hilariously uncoordinated pawing! Tabby is very playful and absolutely loves other pups! She is most comfortable around other dogs, and she will need a home with at least one confident pup to help show her the ropes. When she is not playing, Tabby is very calm inside and will relax next to her person or in her crate. The crate is her safe space and she is always happy to spend time there. Tabby is fully leash trained and is looking for an adopter who will continue to expose her to new situations. She might never warm up immediately to new people, but she is already making great progress learning that the world is not so scary! Tabby is a special girl, and if you give her time to warm up, the affection and gratitude she gives in return will make you fall madly in love.

Age: 3 years
Weight: 50 lbs.
