Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!

Have you ever gotten the feeling that your dog knows what you’re about to do? A recent study completed by Jozsef Topal of the Institute for Psychological Research at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences shows that dogs track our eye movements to decide on our intent.
It’s time once again to remind all of you that it’s getting colder outside. If you live near any kind of water, please make sure you know where your dog is, and keep him or her away from the water. This does not look fun!
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
The Associated Press is reporting on a Welsh Corgi from Billings, Montana who was feared dead after an avalanche, but who made his way back to his family’s motel room 4 days later.
Dave Gaillard and his wife, from Bozeman, stayed at the motel the night before they went back-country skiing near Cooke City outside Yellowstone National Park. The avalanche killed Dave, and everyone thought the dog, Ole, had been taken as well.
Eleven-year old Marguerite Gaillard was busy making a memorial collage of Ole’s pictures when word was received that the dog was still alive.
The hotel owner drove the dog back to Bozeman for a reunion with his family.
Our sympathy goes out to the Gaillard family on their loss. And we’re glad Ole was able to bring about at least one bright spot.
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
Veterinarian Patty Khuly recently posted an article on VetStreet concerning the health of purebreds vs. that of mutts. What she came up with might surprise you.
Does your dog somehow know when you’re taking him or her to the vet? It seems like my dogs dig their feet in and sit down before we even leave the house. Here are some ideas to make that long trip to the vet a little less stressful for both of you.

From the Hartford Courant via Life With Dogs: Kora, an 11-year old German Shepherd, retired in August after nine years of service with the West Hartford K-9 Unit. Everyone expected her to live out her retirement with her handler, Officer Eric Rocheleau. However, he noticed that she was beginning to seem sluggish, so he took her to the vet last Monday.

Have you seen this story about Mitt Romney yet? I usually don’t bring up too much about politics here, but really, this is just plain stupid, no matter who you plan to vote for. Apparently, Romney tied his dog’s crate to the roof of the family car for a 12-hour road trip. The poor dog must have been scared to death!
I have one question for you, Governor: If the crate was totally air-tight, how did Seamus breathe?
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
