Shelter Sunday: Hawaii Dog Foundation / Waipahu, HI

Leilehua HIMeet Leilehua! This beautiful purebred Shar Pei is living in Waipahu, Hawaii with the Hawaii Dog Foundation. Although they don’t give many details about the dogs on their site, they do say that Leilehua is a 5-year old female who weighs 50 pounds.

A little about the Foundation:

Hawaii Dog Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation whose primary goal is to ensure that every dog in Hawaii is given the chance to live out its natural life in peace, safety, and contentment.

Hawaii Dog Foundation was incorporated in 2004 and is a no-kill dog rescue organization based on Oahu. It is run entirely by volunteers.

Their plan is to continue taking in homeless dogs; to use their network of foster families to care for these dogs; and then to find permanent, loving homes for them.

They look forward to the day when there are no more homeless dogs in Hawaii!
