Entries Open for AKC National Championship Presented by Royal Canin

From The Dog Lady’s mailbag: Entries are now open for the 2020 AKC National Championship presented by Royal Canin, which returns to Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) North/South Concourse this December 12th and 13th. Entries are also open for the 4th annual AKC Royal Canin National All-Breed Puppy and Junior Stakes, which will take place on Friday, December 11th at the OCCC. Both premium lists and all event updates can be found by visiting the AKC National Championship event page.

Out of an abundance of caution due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the AKC National Championship Presented by Royal Canin will not have spectators at any of the events held at the OCCC December 8-13,2020. Attendance will be limited to exhibitors (handlers, handler assistants and owners), judges, production crew, and event staff. There will be numerous safety requirements in place, including the wearing of face coverings, social distancing and sanitizing stations.

The AKC National Championship is one of the world’s premiere dog events. It is the largest dog show in the United States and the only show hosted by the American Kennel Club. The National Championship is held in conjunction with the AKC Agility Invitational, the AKC National Obedience Championship, the National Owner-Handled Series Finals, and Junior competitions in Conformation and Agility, and showcases some of the top canine athletes.

Hotel room blocks are open for those traveling to the event to compete. Visit the AKC National Championship Hotel and Travel page for more information.

Event coverage will be highlighted on AKC.tv. AKC.tv is available 24/7 on the web and on the AKC.tv app. Download the app today! It is also available on most streaming platforms.

This is a great show. I went several years ago and had a wonderful time. I’m sad the virus is keeping spectators away.
