HAVANESE “BOODLES” WINS AKC ROYAL CANIN NATIONAL ALL-BREED PUPPY AND JUNIOR STAKES

From The Dog Lady’s Mailbag: CH Nauti Leighway Send More Boodles, a Havanese known as “Boodles” triumphed over 931 dogs ages six months to 18 months to become the AKC Royal Canin National All-Breed Junior of the Year, held today in Orlando, Fla in conjunction with the AKC National Championship Presented by Royal Canin. “Boodles,” owned and bred by Elizabeth Omeara and Ashleigh Rutzel of Portsmouth, RI, was crowned “Junior of the Year” by an esteemed panel of judges, consisting of Mr. James Moses, Mr. Daniel Smyth, and Mr. Thomas Powers, after intense canine competition.

Group Winners

After winning Best of Breed competitions, the following top dogs went on to win in their respective groups and compete for Puppy/Junior of the Year:

Sporting: Loretta Breaking The Glass Slipper, a Labrador Retriever known as “Glass,” owned by Juan Carbonell of Huntington, NY and bred by Juan Carbonell.

Hound: Longlesson Fly Me To The Moon II, a Whippet known as “Eagle,” owned by Longlesson Knl of Mechanicsville, MD and bred by Longlesson Knl and Sabine Salo.

Working: Medieval’s Speak Of The Devil V. Isengard, a Rottweiler known as “Jimmy,” owned by Sarah Janner and Danielle Meyers of Bethlehem, CO and bred by Lisa Couse and Michael Ryan.

Terrier: Lotus’ If I Ruled The World, a Miniature Bull Terrier known as “Nas,” owned by Geremia, Hamman, Wornall, Photos, and Baggenstos of Santa Barbara, CA and bred by Luke Baggenstos and Rowan Baggenstos.

Toy: CH Nauti Leighway Send More Boodles, a Havanese known as “Boodles,” owned by Elizabeth Omeara and Ashleigh Rutzel of Portsmouth, RI and bred by Elizabeth Omeara and Ashleigh Rutzel.

Non-Sporting: Shady Oak’s High Tea At Highwood, a French Bulldog known as “Biscuit,” owned by Tony Siress, Alexandra Vorbeck, and Perry Payson of Santa Monica, CA and bred by Pam Kochuba and Perry Payson.

Herding: Wild Wind’s Barramist Dixieland Delight, a Collie (Smooth) known as “Dixie,” owned by Bryonna Thompson, Y. Thompson, and M. Bergstraser of Colorado Springs, CO and bred by Michelle Bergstraser, Laura Bergstraser, and Annessa Towell.
