Do dogs really watch TV?

shutterstock_43508197Today we welcome guest blogger Kate Voss to the doggies.com blog community. Kate Voss is an entertainment writer who adopted her first chow/shepherd mix in 2012. When her puppy was young, it suffered from severe separation anxiety, and through training and routine, is now a happy, healthy pup.

Dogs may bark at the television when they see another dog on screen, or perk their heads up when they hear an intriguing noise come from the TV set, but do dogs actually watch television and understand what they are looking at?

K-9s 4 Cops Float Prep for 2014 Rose Parade

K9s 4 Cops is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Law Enforcement K9 Units across the nation. We envision safe communities and schools patrolled by law enforcement with highly trained K9s ready for action. We believe that a lack of funds should not be the obstacle for any agency working to keep our streets safe. We seek to become the portal of resources and support for law enforcement K9 Units in need.

Can’t wait to see it when it’s done!

Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!

One of Cassidy’s front legs had to be amputated after he was hit by a car. Sheltie Rescue of Utah helped Cassidy heal and found him a forever home. Rather than wallowing in his misery, Cassidy turned his disability into a positive by providing comfort to others with different abilities.

Showing “courage in the face of adversity,” Cassidy does “presentations for children about disabilities, acceptance and how everyone is different, special and has something positive to give to the world.”

He also visits retirement homes and rehab centers where he “gives a lot of love,” according to his mom Kathy.

Check back soon for the rest of the goings on at the 3rd Annual Hero Dog Awards.
