Saturday Survey: Your Veterinarian

I posted earlier this week about some veterinarians who might be…ummmm…shall we say “padding” their diagnoses in order to get you to purchase unnecessary tests and treatments. I know I once switched vets because they turned their front room into a sales floor with leashes, dishes, and other stuff I didn’t need to purchase from the vet. How comfortable are you with your vet’s salesmanship and practices?

Helmsley Trust to Benefit Animal Causes??

coinsWhen Leona Helmsley died several years ago, she left a trust fund of more money that any of us will likely see in a lifetime, with the specification that the money be used for dog-related causes.  Apparently, no one considered her wishes all that important.  The foundation recently awarded $136 million.  Guess how much went to dog causes?  A paltry $1 million – less than 1% of the total.
