Rainbow BridgeI found this today – did NOT write it – but thought it might be comforting to some of you who have lost pets.

Hi, mom and dad!
Now that I’ve been across The Rainbow Bridge for a couple weeks, they said I should write a letter home. Sorry, mom, but I’m so busy ‘across the bridge’ that I haven’t thought of home much. Ohio Names Shelter Animals Official State Pet

Animal Shelter KennelI’m proud of my home state of Ohio. The Ohio House voted with a 78-0 vote on SB 86 which includes language sponsored by state Representative Laura Lanese:

“A shelter pet is hereby designated as the official pet of the state to raise public awareness of shelter animals.”

The measure still needs to pass the state Senate and be signed by the Governor, but it’s a start!
