I posted earlier this week about a dog who has been cloned in South Korea, whose genetics include something to make the dog glow when he is fed certain antibiotics. Researchers think they can use the same technology to find a cure for certain human diseases. So, does that make cloning ethical?
Reuters is reporting that the South Korean scientists who cloned a dog to create a Beagle named Snuppy, have now created a dog who glows red. At a cost of about $3 million, they inserted a gene that makes the dog glow when he is fed doxycycline and viewed under an ultraviolet light.
Last Tuesday’s Top Ten list was about ways in which dogs are better than cats. One of those ways was that dogs have a much wider variety of job skills than cats do. So, what are those jobs? Here’s my top ten:
