NATIONAL CHAMPIONS IN AGILITY, OBEDIENCE AND AKC RALLY® CROWNED IN PERRY, GA

The top dogs in the nation were crowned from an overall entry of more than 1,900 this weekend at the American Kennel Club® (AKC®) National Agility Championship, AKC National Obedience Championship and AKC Rally National Championship held in Perry, Georgia.

“It is inspiring to see the performances at these three National Championship events. The joy of being there and the comradery among the exhibitors makes this a celebration of the sports,” said Doug Ljungren, AKC Vice President of Sports and Events. “These dogs are truly the best in their sport from across the country. Animal Planet Gears Up for the Super Bowl

I just love watching Animal Planet while I wait for the Super Bowl to start. I knew the 11th Annual Puppy Bowl would be on this afternoon, but I was flipping through channels this morning and came upon another show that I hope will be an annual competition for them.

The show was called America’s Cutest Dogs, and it was a compilation of cute dog videos from the Internet. My favorite one is shown here, but it didn’t even place among the finalists.

A sport for every dog…

I’m a little late in posting these pictures, but I hope you’ll think it was worth the wait!  These are from the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge Regional Finals in San Diego last month.  This premier canine sporting event features dogs competing in a variety of events including dog surfing, dog diving, freestyle flying disc, head-to-head weave poles, Jack Russell hurdle racing and agility.
