The Westminster Kennel Club welcomes over 200 breeds and varieties of dogs to the 146th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show Presented by Purina Pro Plan on January 24-26, 2022. The iconic dog show is set to return to Madison Square Garden for the evening competitions after the 2021 event was held outside of New York City for the first time in history due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the second-longest continuously held sporting event in the U.S., the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show will again celebrate dog breeds, including those lesser-known breeds such as the American Foxhound, Skye Terrier, Sussex Spaniel, and Bergamasco Sheepdog. These hidden gems will be part of the 19.5 hours of live FOX Sports television coverage culminating with Best in Show on the evening of Wednesday, January 26, on FS1. Welcoming a New Commander

From the Twitter feed of @POTUS:

Commander

In my opinion, no White House (or any other house) is complete without a dog. After Champ died and Major went to live with family friends due to a few biting incidents, the White House may have seemed a little empty. President Biden’s brother and sister-in-law solved the problem by gifting the President with a new puppy for his birthday in November. Enter Commander, a German Shepherd like his predecessors. The 3-month old will soon be joined by a cat, according to Dr. Biden.

Look at the size of those paws!

Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!

#MayfieldStrong

Mayfield Lorenzo

If you’ve been following the news, you’ve heard the awfulness that is coming out of Mayfield, Kentucky, following the monster tornado that hit a candle factory there.

Here are links to the closest animal shelters, which I suspect are about to get very busy, very soon.

Murray-Calloway County Animal Shelter

Humane Society of Calloway County

And if you want to help the humans, too, here are a couple of places to donate:

Blue Grass Community Foundation

American Red Cross
(You can specify Disaster Relief, if you’d like to.)

Please give til it helps. Christmas is going to be rough for these folks.

Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
