Happy K-9 veterans day, and thank you to all who serve.
Look closely at the dog in the picture – isn’t it neat how it spells out War Dogs?
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
What do you do when someone steals your dog and takes him or her halfway across the country? If you’re lucky, the kidnapper will eventually get tired of the animal and set him loose, but then what?

How cute is that! I love it when the Dachshund turns into a Terrier at the end!
I would LOVE for my engineer brother to build one of these for my house! (hint, hint)
Thanks to my engineer brother and sis-in-law, Jim and Phyllis, for getting this to me.
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog

I can’t believe I missed the start of the Iditarod. I love watching those beautiful sled dogs work.
Belatedly, here are the top five mushers at this time:

A study by a University of Wisconsin-Madison pediatrician showed that infants in homes with pets have a lower incidence of pet allergies and eczema than their pet-less peers. Finnish researchers have found that young children with dogs or cats suffered fewer ear problems than children who did not live with pets.

Meet Lil Bit! I chose him because when my aging, feeble mind can’t remember my dogs’ names, I call them Lil Bit, too!
This beautiful dog is being sheltered at the City of Boston Animal Shelter. Here’s what they have to say about him:
He is a long haired chihuahua. Very sweet. 6 months old and 5 pounds of joy. He would love to sit on your lap!
It’s not much, I know, but better than a lot of animal shelters do in describing their pets. (Besides, as small as he is, he doesn’t need a description bigger than he is!)
If you’re going to be near Massachusetts, why not contact the animal shelter and ask to meet Lil Bit and all of his friends. Call 617-635-1800 or 635-1913. (The city’s website is undergoing maintenance right now so I can’t post a link to the shelter, but you should be able to find it by starting at at CityOfBoston.gov) Please note: if you already have a dog in your home, the city of Boston requires that you bring your dog in, so they can evaluate how the two dogs will get along before you bring Lil Bit into your home.
If you’re not in the northeast, check out Petfinder’s Shelter Center for information on adoptable dogs near you.
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
Milo, the cute little terrier in this picture, has been best friends with Eddie, the Labrador, since both began living with Angie Baker-Stedham in Cardiff, England. When Eddie began to lose his sight last year, Milo stepped right up to provide assistance without any training at all.

Today we’re seeing the first little bit of spring weather in Ohio, and it’s making me look forward to summer. What summer activities with your dog are you most looking forward to?
