It’s that time of year again. My dogs are loosing more fur than I thought they had in the first place as we move into spring. How do you deal with all of the fur that ends up on your clothes?

Purina Incredible Dog Challenge in Atlanta
The Purina Incredible Dog Challenge was at Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic Park on April 2nd. All breeds of dogs were welcome, participating in dog diving, agility, weave-pole races, Jack Russell racing, and freestyle Frisbee events. They even fielded a baseball team. The videos from these Eastern Regional Finals are available on BarkNet. There was no way for me to embed them here -sorry! You’ll have to make due here with the still photos they sent along.

ASPCA Day
Happy ASPCA day! The ASPCA was the first humane organization in the Western Hemisphere and the first organization to be given the legal authority to make arrests for crimes against animals. They are celebrating 145 years of service this year, and today is National ASPCA Day, part of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month. Their mission, since 1866, has been “to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States.”
Dane Day at the Park
There is a group in Richmond, VA that has Dane Day the second Sunday of each month at 10:00 am at the Ruff House Dog Park at Rockwood Park. Their goal is to promote breed awareness and provide a social event for Great Danes and their families.
