Don’t forget to set your DVR if you won’t be home this evening. Hachi: A Dog’s Story will be on the Hallmark Channel tonight at 8 pm Eastern. This touching movie is loosely based on the true story of Hachiko, a loyal Akita who waited for his professor dad at a Japanese train station each day. The new Richard Gere take on the story is an excellent movie, and if you missed it in theaters, you might want to check it out.

OK, since it is now Wednesday, I thought it would be a good time to follow up on Monday’s post about a dog named Tuesday. I stumbled across this article from the Wall Street Journal while I was looking for something else. If you watched the third video attached to Monday’s post, you learned a bit about Tuesday, a dog who helps veteran Luis Carlos Montalvan deal with severe PTSD. Here’s “The Rest of the Story.”
I received a press release from National Geographic the other day about this upcoming show, and it really caught my eye. The show, called “And Man Created Dog” will air this Sunday, August 8, 2010 at 9 pm on the National Geographic Channel.
One of the advantages of our taking Cooper to Bow Wow Beach a few times is that he now looks forward to getting into his crate in the car. We used to have to shove, cajole, and otherwise force him in. However, he still gets sick nearly every time he rides more than about an hour.
