I went to a graduation party this evening, and one of the couples at our table has been struggling with their Golden Retriever who has cancer. They have another dog, and are worried about her being lonely, so they’re starting to think about what kind of dog they want to get after Molly goes. Then, we got to talking about the differences between buying a dog from a breeder and adopting one from a shelter.

One of the biggest differences, of course, is price.  How much was your doggie in the window?

Shelter Sunday: Shar Pei Savers / Beloit, WI

Meet Shin-Soo. I had to pick him this week because Shin-Soo Choo is my favorite player on our red-hot Cleveland Indians team. But I digress. Shin-Soo (the dog, not the baseball player) is a resident of Wisconsin, currently living in a foster home affiliated with Shar Pei Savers rescue in Beloit. Product Review: NatureNosh Dog Treats

The good folks at NatureNosh sent me several bags of what they describe as their “ultra premium organic gourmet dog treats.”  These treats don’t have any animal by-products, fillers, hormones, chemical preservatives, pesticides, or herbicides.  They also don’t use corn, wheat, egg, or soy in their recipes, and they are certified by the USDA as organic.  The biscuits come in 9 oz bags, available in four flavors:  Beef Wellington, Chicken Liver Parmesan, Thanksgiving’s Best, and Pumpkin Pie.
