Cooper was so good for us when we had him at the Pet Expo, but normally he is hell on wheels whenever he sees a leash. Just wondering how your dog does when you take him or her for a walk.

Finally got around to downloading the still photos from my camera from last month’s Pet Expo in Columbus.
Bomb-Sniffing Dog, Chocolate
OK, besides the fact that I love his name, this dog served a life-saving purpose in Afghanistan recently. As part of a British K-9 unit, Chocolate, a Belgian Shepherd, is trained to sniff out bombs, but no one expected him to find a whole bomb-making factory.
Check out this video from NBC News for the whole story.
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
Meet Canton PD K-9 Risk
One of the other hats I wear (when I’m not wearing my “Blogger Extraordinaire” hat) is that of a rape crisis educator. I’ve been teaching some classes about law enforcement’s response to sexual assault at the Canton Police Department, and one of my students last week was a K-9 officer who works with Risk, pictured here.
“Sweet Home, Alabama”
Is anyone else absolutely in love with the Bloodhound in the movie “Sweet Home, Alabama”? We’re watching it tonight for the umpteenth time on USA Network.
Baron, the dog who played Bryant, is SO cute! I just love the scene where he jumps in the lake and stays under so long you think he’s dead, then he just pops back up like nothing has happened.
For those of you into movie trivia, the first dog to have lived with Andrew was named Bear. When he died, Andrew named his new dog Bryant, in tribute to the legendary football coach from the University of Alabama.
For more information on Baron and how he was trained to do his scenes, see the review on Aha Film.
Hope you had a safe, restful, and happy holiday today!
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
