Have you ever taken a dog first aid course or CPR class? I didn’t know that every authority was using different guidelines for how to do CPR on a dog. Turns out that the University of Pennsylvania and Cornell University are now trying to standardize practices, issuing the first set of evidence-based guidelines for resuscitating dogs (and cats) whose hearts have stopped beating.

Smiling Edgar and the Stuffed Pug
I stopped at the credit union today on my lunch hour, and found this stuffed cutie hanging over the wall of the teller booth. When I got closer, I saw that a picture of his friend was hanging nearby. The teller told me the picture is of her Pug, Edgar, smiling at the camera.
Hey Edgar! Keep that smile!
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!

They Can’t All Be Saved
I’m sad to report a devastating ending to Lucky’s struggle. This beautiful 10-year old Husky had been found in a back yard in Hiram (near Akron / Kent) lying in her own filth, covered in open sores, very thin, and gasping for air. She was taken to the Portage Animal Protective League, and as late as Friday was starting to do well.

T-shirts for dog lovers
You just gotta love dog humor. This picture is from the Facebook page of Dig and Bark. On their main site, you can buy T-shirts that proclaim your love for all things canine.
The site only shows sizes up to XXL, but for those of us who are more full-figured, they will do a special order. According to Barry, who answered my e-mail, “you should just place the order as normal and when you go through check-out just leave us a note that you would like a special size. Some of the shirts, like the tie-dyes, are available in sizes up to 5x. Please give us 1-2 weeks to get the shirt for you. We don’t keep them in stock.”
Check it out!
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
