CBS News in Pittsburgh is reporting on two dogs who were apparently poisoned with antifreeze. Both dogs are being treated at Woodlands Animal Care Center in Farmington. The vets there say it will be at least three days before they will know if the dogs can survive the attack.
As most of you know, I live in Northeastern Ohio, close enough to Cleveland that it was very big news when the three girls who had been kidnapped ten years ago were found alive. What I didn’t know until more recently is that the kidnapper also had three dogs in the house.

What do you do when Daddy comes home from a long deployment, but your legs just don’t work well enough for you to run to the door to welcome him?
This beautiful Bulldog / Pit Bull mix just crawled on over to greet him. Due to a birth defect, Emma has Hemivertebra (literally “half-vertebrae”), causing her back end to drag on the floor because her legs don’t work right. But, she would not allow herself to be left out of the homecoming celebration.

Richard tried to rouse his wife, then rolled her over on her back when she wouldn’t wake up. He found her foaming at the mouth, having a seizure. Janelle was seizing because her blood pressure had risen dramatically due to a condition known as eclampsia.
Baby Charlotte was delivered by emergency C-section weighing just one pound, seven ounces. The whole family is said to be doing very well, in spite of the health scare. I’m thinking Louie will be looking forward to some extra love when mom and baby come home from the hospital!

We reported earlier this week about poor Hendrix, who was flown from Staten Island to Phoenix…by way of Ireland! The airline got him reunited with his owner safely in the end, but I’m sure there was quite a bit of angst during the detour. Would you ever fly your dog somewhere on a flight you weren’t on?
